Punjab Flood: Bhagwant Mann government's declares Punjab disaster affected state 

The situation in Punjab is serious due to continuous rains and floods. Due to the rising of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers and heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, more than 1200 villages in all 23 districts are in the grip of floods.

Punjab Flood: Bhagwant Mann government's declares Punjab disaster affected state 

As rainfall continues, 23 districts in Punjab are affected by floods. So far 30 deaths have occurred in Punjab floods. Seeing the flood, Bhagwant Mann government has declared the state as a disaster affected state.

Punjab is witnessing the devastation of floods. Continuous rain and floods in Punjab have caused heavy devastation. All 23 districts of Punjab are in the grip of floods. There is chaos in Punjab due to floods. In view of this, now the Bhagwant Mann-led state government has declared the whole of Punjab as a disaster affected area. 

Rainfall Continues in Punjab

The situation in Punjab is serious due to continuous rains and floods. Due to the rising of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi rivers and heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, more than 1200 villages in all 23 districts are in the grip of floods. This disaster took the lives of 30 people, three people are missing. About 2.56 lakh people have been affected by the floods. Gurdaspur district is the worst affected, where 323 villages are submerged. 

Relief Operations in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has ordered to speed up relief operations on a war footing in view of the seriousness of the situation. So far 14,936 people have been evacuated to safer places, and 6582 people have taken shelter in 122 relief camps. Districts like Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar in Punjab are the worst affected. 

Punjab Police Accelerates Rescue Operations

The Army, NDRF, BSF, and Punjab Police have together accelerated rescue operations. Medicines and food are being delivered to remote areas through drones and boats. The agriculture sector in Punjab has suffered heavy losses. About 61632 hectares of fields are submerged due to the floods. Paddy, cotton and vegetable crops have been destroyed in this. 16,632 hectares of land in Fazilka and 11,620 hectares of land in Kapurthala are affected. 

The central government has sent inter-ministerial central teams (IMCT) to Punjab to assess the damage. The central government has assured Punjab of all possible help.
